It must be Christmas. Or the gift-giving religious hoo-ha of your choice. It's none of my business, really.
Deadline New York says:
Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures is negotiating to acquire an untitled satire that will re-team screenwriter Charlie Kaufman and director Spike Jonze, the tandem behind the mind-benders Adaptation and Being John Malkovich. The project was pitched recently to financiers, and I'm told it's a satire about how world leaders gather to figure out all the seismic events that will take place in the worlds, from oil prices to wars that will be waged.
That would be the mysterious project we heard a tiny bit about - a very tiny bit, almost nothing, really - a while ago.
One of my field agents reliably informs me that Megan Ellison is God.
BUT THERE'S MORE, about the other project, which we knew a little bit about already - the one called Frank or Francis: The one inspired by the anger culture you find online, where everyone's all "Oh, I hated the movie, I hope the film-maker dies in a fire and his dog develops an exotic seven-syllable disease!!!" You know, people, you know. Here's the news:
The film chronicles a volatile back and forth between a film director (Frank) and an online blogger (Francis), who takes delight in berating his cinematic talent. The project's at Sony Pictures for the moment, and names like Adaptation's Meryl Streep being talked about for roles.
Where does Charlie gets his ideas?!
Needless to say, I'd love to read those two scripts. Particularly Frank or Francis. So, you know. If anyone can help, please do so.
Major thanks to Tram, Jon and Ian!

Also FoF has around 50 songs, and Kaufman describes it as something on lines of 'Preston Sturges doing a musical.' He is looking to collaborate with Carter Burwell on the compositions...
About the Spike project, he classifies it as 'historical in nature...but oddly so'.. However, I think its quite Strangelove-ish but oddly so...

DEATH to CK!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!
PS: I'm always amazed by how he sells his movies. Now everyone will talk in his imdb forum thinking that they may be discussing with him (wich in many cases won't be true). Excelent marketing! as in the malcovich thing, were he would get a star, by putting his name in the title (stars are egocentric). Putting his self in "adaptation" was also, another marketing tool. Now he's the first more or less famous writer in the field. Cheers.
I hated the movie Adaptation and I hope the film-maker dies in a fire and his dog develops an exotic seven-syllable disease!!!!!!!! !!!!!
