If you can provide any of Kaufman's TV/movie scripts, other drafts of the scripts below, or examples of early work such as the pieces he wrote for National Lampoon etc., please email me. If you have to snail-mail them to me, I'll pay for postage and copying.

Killing Charlie Kaufman *
by Rick Cunningham
1st draft (Feb. 26, 2002): PDF
*This semi-autobiographical dark comedy was written by Rick Cunningham, who used to work with Charlie Kaufman back in the days when Charlie was writing for TV sitcoms. My thanks to Rick for providing it to the site, and to Armin Volckers for putting Rick into contact with me.
Below are two unproduced TV pilots written before Being John Malkovich. They have never appeared online before.

Other drafts of the scripts above are currently unavailable for download.
The shooting scripts for Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and Human Nature were released in book form and are available for purchase via Being Charlie Kaufman. (We're partnered with Amazon.) Script Shack is another good source. Screenplays for unreleased movies are hard to come by unless you really know where to look.
1 million thanks and several of my vital organs go to the anonymous sources who provided A Scanner Darkly, the Nov. 2000 draft of Adaptation, Rambling Pants, and Depressed Roomies, and to Twink Schiff for the yearbook scans and research; big thanks also to the volunteer who PDFed all of the scripts above except for Killing Charlie Kaufman, Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
