Variety brings word that Charlie is already in the early stages of mapping out his next project, and it's a little... different.
"Michel Gondry and I were interviewed once and Michel, joking around, said I should make a film without any people or animals in it. I thought it was an interesting concept at the time, but of course I didn't take it seriously." He continues, "Lately I can't get the concept out of my mind, wondering how it could be done. I'm in the early stages at the moment, but I think it could be done. It's a little exciting."
Asked what the film will be about, Kaufman said, "It's hard to describe. I think it's going to be about antelopes. I like antelopes. I want to explore the human condition, as seen through the eyes of antelopes. But I don't want to make a standard antelope movie. And I won't be using actors, or real animals. Or animatronics, or puppets. But hopefully the antelopes will be thirty feet tall."
In a move that will surprise many, Kaufman has revealed he will be co-writing the script with George Clooney.
