News lately is a bit thin on the ground, but here's something.
Nikki Finke's latest LA Weekly column, How To Cure Summertime's Hollywood Blues, details what she would do to rescue Hollywood if she were a studio exec. Among other bright conclusions, she blames Charlie Kaufman and PT Anderson for falling ticket sales. (”I promise shareholders to never make a money-losing movie with Charlie Kaufman or P.T. Anderson just in the hopes of winning an Oscar and feeding my ego.”) Mind you, she also says she'd do away with R-rated movies and make mostly comedies, so I suspect her tongue is in her cheek. But Karina Longworth has posted a rebuttal over at Cinematical, so I figured I'd put up both links and let you guys take a look.
On other fronts: you guys can stop giving me Montauk beach info, cos I think I have what I need. (And yes, I do know the beach is in Montauk, around the Hamptons.) Annnnd STILL no news about Sirius Radio's supposed-to-be-upcoming broadcast of Charlie and the Coens' Theater of the New Ear.
