BCK visitor David was in attendance at Charlie's BAFTA/BFI Screenwriting Lecture thingy, and he's posted a comment about it under the BAFTA/BFI article I published before the event. Here's the beginning, with a link to the whole thing:
I git tickets by calling the box office the minute they went on sale (and I'ma a member, too). I went to the John Logan and Arriaga as well but this was easily the best one.
Charlie did his own version and the '15 minute' lecture lasted nearly an hour, followed by a short interview and Q+A. He was very funny and seemed at pains to stress the importance of encouraging writers to "do no harm" by being Carpenter Ant Zombies and churning out mindless rubbish.
I don't know what people have written about his next project but he said it was going to be a musical, with over 50 songs (some just snippets) he wrote himself. I got the feeling that a lot of the songs would act as interior monologues. He didn't give the project a title, only saying that he wanted to stretch himself by doing something he had never done before. (Link)
Thanks, David!
