Does Charlie have a cameo in Gondry's Be Kind, Rewind? [UPDATE: No he doesn't. See the update above.] I'm very sceptical, but I've received two emails about it, and since my eyes are completely crap, I'll let you all decide:
He has curly dark hair, but the head shape seems wrong to me. Anyway, whoever that guy is, he's playing a video store clerk. If you have it on DVD, see if anyone is credited as a Video Store Clerk and maybe that'll solve the mystery. OR WILL IT?
Meanwhile, Carl came across a 1980 telemovie called The Ordeal of Dr. Mudd, in which a Charles Kaufman played a character named Jones. Is that our Mr. Rock 'n' Roll? Beats me. Plot synopsis, for those interested:
TV film on the little-known true story of Dr. Samuel Mudd, a Maryland physician who was wrongfully sentenced to prison for conspiring to assassinate President Lincoln, when all he did was to treat the injured assassin unaware of who he was.
If he was going to play a role in anything, I'd guess a 1980 flick would be more likely than a post-2000 one. But that's just me.
Completely random: Scotty has been trying to remember what one-man play it is that begins something like: "And now, finally, at last, at long last..." He also says there's a chance he's misquoting. (Therefore, maybe the line is actually "So there I was, trapped in an elevator with a mongoose, some coconuts and Geena Davis..." Who knows?) Anyway. Aaaaaanyway. If you know of a one-man play with a similar opening line - not the Geena Davis one - drop me a note.
