Film Independent's Spirit Awards went down yesterday, and Synecdoche took out Best First Feature. HOORAY. ("I guess it really is a bad title," says Charlie, after Aaron Eckhart can't pronounce it.) It also took out the Robert Altman Award - but we knew that already, because we're psychic. (Also, that award was announced in December.) HOORAY.

The bad news is, Charlie missed out on the Best Screenplay Award. THANKS FOR NOTHING, Woody Allen.
