Park Avenue Armory renovation looks like the Synecdoche warehouse

From the New York Times, via Shakin' Dave:

Many artists come to New York to play the big room, and these days the biggest of the big rooms is the 55,000-square-foot Drill Hall at the Park Avenue Armory, a faded relic of the Gilded Age that has been gradually undergoing a $200 million conversion into an arts space meant to fit things that can't fit anywhere else in the city.

"The challenge was to create the largest stage in New York, but that would work for both performance and visual arts," said Rebecca Robertson, president of the Park Avenue Armory, the nonprofit organization that took over the armory from the state in 2006 and is embarking this fall on its first full season. "There's no other theater in New York that equally does both." (Source)

Look at it, man! Synecdoche ahoy!
