23 MacArthur "genius" grants were announced on Tuesday, so keep an eye on Manhattan: someone might use their $500 000 to build a whopping warehouse and stage an insanely elaborate play. Synecdoche's Caden Cotard won his grant in 2009, according to Charlie's film, so this year's winners have a tough act to follow, no? Click here to check out the NY Times' piece on the grants. I recognise the name of exactly one recipient: David Simon, creator of The Wire. And I see an Aussie-based medical researcher has nabbed some dough, too. YAY.
Thanks to Dave for the heads up!
