A frame from Synecdoche

Hey now. Here's the first still from Synecdoche, New York:

And a lovely still that is, very Kaufmanesque. Just to put that shot into context, it comes from the scene where everyone is leaning forward, inspecting something with magnifiers. (If you really want to know, they're probably checking out the microscopic art of the lead character's wife. And if you want to see something similarly cool - you do, trust me, you do - Google up "Willard Wigan".) Thanks to Eric from Ioncinema.com. Over there, the tip is that Synecdoche will premiere at Cannes in May.

I must say, I've had less pre-release news about Synecdoche than any other Kaufman flick to date. What's up with that? Seriously, people. It's a sad state of affairs.
