Long time no nothing, eh? How've you been? Looks like you've put on some weight.
Sony Pictures Classics is in "advanced negotiations" to acquire Synecdoche, New York, so says Hollywood Reporter. Which is kind of interesting, since the film was originally written for Sony, who agreed to give the project back to Charlie after Spike Jonze had to bail out as director so he could go do Where The Wild Things Are. (Which itself is a project in a bit of trouble, from what I've read recently.) But there you go, looks like a US distribution deal might be finally on the cards. "The talks with Sony Pictures Classics involve a price tage in the low seven figures. Producers apparently are aiming for a late 2008 release for awards-season qualification."
Thanks to Cliff and Josh.
