Here are the most frequently asked questions that come through my In box:
- Would you like to buy cheap pharmaceuticals?
- Would you like to help out a Nigerian Prince by holding a few million bucks for a little bit?
- Do you know where I can find the Synecdoche script?
- Do you know where I can find a recording or transcript of Charlie's radio play "Hope Leaves the Theater"?
Somewhere near the bottom of the list is "I'm a cute girl and I find you fascinating, wanna be friends?" *sigh* But anyway. Aaaaanyway.
BCK used to host an MP3 of "Hope Leaves the Theater," but it was rather popular and a rather large file, and - given the reckless abandon with which everybody downloaded it - it used up way too much bandwidth. Bandwidth costs money. I am not Donald Trump. So I took the MP3 offline, lest I begin posting future updates via a cardboard box in a public park, wearing a sign that says "Will demonstrate double-jointed elbows for food/money."
Later this week, unless there are objections or unforeseen problems, I'm gonna try something new. I'll put "Hope" back on the site, but to download it you'll need to contribute a small donation, via PayPal. (Amount yet to be determined, but less than 10 bucks.) You will not be paying for the MP3; you will be helping to cover the bandwidth and related site-running costs. For a while the rumour was that Carter Burwell might release "New Ear" on CD, but it doesn't seem like that'll happen, so I figure what the hell.
If it works out, hooray. If there's a drama, I'll take the MP3 down again and figure out something else.
Comments, thoughts, questions are welcome.
