Surely we're not suddenly pulling in a previously untapped Dubya fan base

I have some nifty multimedia for you guys, but that'll have to wait until I figure out a) why BCK is suddenly transferring 1GB of data per day when it used to transfer less than 12 per month, and b) what the hell I'm gonna do about it, considering that each gigabyte over 12 per month is costing me 4 bucks. (Beginning with $50 in May, and right now I really can't afford to spend much on anything.) It's mighty suspicious, since the transfer rate hasn't gone down even after I removed all the multimedia, and the increase only started when my webhost bought a new server. I'm half-tempted to start asking you crazy cats for donations to safeguard against this kind of thing in the future, but I have a feeling I'd rake in all of ten bucks.

Update: Okay, so. I've been doing a little research and double-checking, and it turns out BCK.com is in quite a bit of trouble. ("Thank God," says Charlie.) Thanks to BCK's ever-increasing popularity, for the site to keep going the way it's been going - tons of articles, multimedia, updates and general merriment from me, yadda yadda - I now need about 400MB of storage space and at least 40GB (but preferably 50GB) of bandwidth per month.

Bandwidth costs a lot of money that I do not have. So either I start posting naked photos of myself in the hope that this will reduce traffic; or I re-design the site and remove loads of content; or I find a new, reasonably-priced, reputable web host with the storage space and bandwidth I just mentioned; or the site disappears completely. That's the reality. It seems insane to take down a site because it's become too popular, and I don't like that idea any more than you do. So if you have suggestions or objections, fire them my way. robix has already suggested one particular host and I'm meditating on it, and I've also Googled up a few promising options, but I dunno. Meanwhile, I've set up a PayPal account on the off-chance some of you are feeling charitable enough to donate something to the site. (Think of all the free news, interviews, reviews and screenplays I give you.)

BCK is free to use, but not free to run. If you like the site and would like it to stay alive, you might consider making a small donation. Every little bit is VERY appreciated! Money goes into hosting, domain renewal, plugins that keep the site looking pretty and working correctly. Thanks to James and John for the latest donations! Raised: $195.00.
