Lately I've been getting a fair few emails asking about the status of the long-awaited Adaptation Special Edition DVD, so I emailed Susan Orlean to find out if she has any current info. There's still no sign of a release date, and nothing particularly new, but here's what she had to say:

well, i'm as unsure as you are. i know they're working on it -- or were working on it -- and i know that among other things is an interview with me... i asked a while ago when it was going to be released (actually, i asked about six months ago) and was told that it would be "soon". sorry i can't give you anything more specific than that -- i wish i knew. i do think there's quite a lot of extra stuff, and that they weren't going to have a release date until it was all finished, so that's partly why it's taken so long...but my guess is that it really is almost finished or definitely finished, by now.

If Susan hears anything new, she'll put in on her site.
