Michel Gondry's new film, The We and the I, premiered at Cannes the other day. This is notable for two reasons:
1. Michel Gondry directed it. Duh.
2. Paul Proch co-wrote it. Paul was Charlie's co-writer for a number of years, particularly in the 1980s, and he did all of Jim Carrey's art in Eternal Sunshine, and he was an early inspiration for Joel's character in Eternal Sunshine, and Paul is just a swell guy. He co-wrote The We and the I with Jeff Grimshaw. YAY.
I'm not sure when we'll see a broader release of the film, but Cinema Blend put up the trailer a few days ago:
