Actual news! *faint*

John was cool enough to drop me a line after attending last week's Eternal Sunshine screening at the Arclight, which was followed by a Q&A with Charlie, Elijah and Steve Golin... John's pretty sure it was Golin, anyway. Stuff of note from the Q&A:

• Charlie has done drugs in his time, but isn't a druggie. (No big deal and kind of gossipy, but it answers the oft-asked question, "IS THIS GUY ON DRUGS?")
• He still wants to direct something of his own soon. (Previously he's suggested it might be whatever he writes following the untitled horror project.)
• As well as working on his next script (presumably the horror thing), he's also working on... a play. This apparently got Elijah's attention real quick. Mine too.

I'm assuming Charlie wouldn't mind me posting that last bit, given that he spoke about it to a large group of people. He used to write plays back in the day (if anyone has copies... *flutters lashes*) and performed in a bunch. Wonder if we'll ever hear anything more about this one. Keep your ears to the ground, O soldiers of the BCK Army.

If anyone else attended a Charlie Q&A at the Arclight, by all means give us a yell.

I have it on good authority that it's Charlie's birthday some time this month. I have no idea what day. (I also have it on good authority that it was his birthday last month, but I'll go with November.) So on behalf of Charlie's fans, whichever month it is, I send out a hearty "Happy Birthday" message, followed by a sincere "Have a good one." Hopefully these days he knows I'm not a wacko. Believe it or not, there's a chance this site wouldn't exist if Charlie hadn't been born. (Instead I'd be subjecting maybe 3 web surfers to an inane web log, updated whenever I do anything interesting, ie. once every two years.) BCK should do something to celebrate. I have no ideas.
