Heya.
From this report about the Nantucket Film Festival comes this blurb:
Even though he was the guest of honor, screenwriter Charlie Kaufman hadn't planned to attend this year's Nantucket Film Festival. But then the author of "Being John Malkovich" and "Adaptation" got to thinking: "I figured I could get a free family vacation out of it," he told the crowd at Saturday's screenwriters tribute at the Sconset Casino. "But I'm not very good at those, either." Honoring Kaufman at the event ably MC'd by newsman Brian Williams were Spike Jonze, director of "Being John Malkovich," and Michel Gondry, who directed "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." Of working with the inscrutable Kaufman, actor-comedian Jim Carrey said, "It's like being Helen Keller with a Rubik's Cube." A man of few words, Kaufman concluded his remarks this way: "Wow. Thanks."
Thanks to Tommy from Jim Carrey Nettet, who also pointed out that I screwed up the link to the message board in Saturday's update.
And I neglected to mention that on Saturday Eternal was screened on the beach at the Nantucket festival. Neat. More info here, thanks to clemato.
