There's a cool interview over here with Charlie and Michel. You can even download the audio file of the interview, yay. They briefly mention Memento and Philip K. Dick, which a lot of people on a lot of message boards seem to think preclude anybody else from ever writing a memory/dream movie. I have big problems with that kind of notion, so I'm glad it was brought up. Actually I have problems with a bunch of things people have been saying. I should write a little editorial on it. Like you guys all want to hear me go on and on. ANYWAY, MOVING ON... (Oh, and thanks to Benjamin for the heads up.)
Charlie Kaufman hates me, I'm now almost positive after reading Emily Blunt's interview with him. Which is actually a good one nonetheless. Thanks to Emily for passing along that link, as well as her interview with Jim Carrey and a review of the movie's soundtrack.
The soundtrack is out now, by the way. You can get it via the BCK store. And over here you can view the Gondry-directed music video for Polyphonic Spree's "Light and Day/Reach for the Sun," which comes from the soundtrack. If that link doesn't work, try this one or the band's official site.
Do I Love You? (I Forget) - Richard Corliss from Time calls Eternal "the latest and loveliest alternative universe created by Charlie Kaufman." He also goes so far as to call CK America's only intellectually provocative screenwriter. Wow. I can hear a lot of panties getting into a bunch already.
Spotlight on a grown-up mind - good piece on Michel. Free subscription required, though.
