Eternal's Extras Casting Director speaks!

Cool, no? Thursday she caught a screening of the film and had this to say (I asked for her honest opinion, and had offered to leave it off the site if she thought it sucked):

I absolutely loved it. The visuals were amazing. and they stayed very true to the shooting script.

The first ten or 15 minutes have a completely different tone and timing then the rest of the film and that threw me off but then I realized what he was doing..
very smart.

Let me know if there is anything you are interested in hearing about.
By the way, the shooting script is very different from the version of the script you have.

There's a message board thread over here at the IMDB that briefly discusses a few of the changes that were made.

So if any of you have questions, email them to me and I'll pass them along to Kristian if they're not completely insane.

Anders and Admiring Kate's Marla both sent along this link to CHUD, where there is a series of brief interviews (Dunst, Ruffalo, Winslet, Kaufman, Gondry, Wilkinson, Wood, Carrey) conducted at a press junket held last Saturday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. Marla also posted pics of the event.

The biggest thing to come out of those interviews was mention of the upcoming untitled horror project Charlie is scripting for our friends at Sony Pictures:

CK: I don't really want to speak about it except to say I'm not sure it's a horror project. I think it's going to be scary, but if people are expecting a horror genre thing, I think they'll be disappointed.
S.J.R.: Is it something you came up with the story on and are developing with Spike or is it something you came up with together and pitched like you did with Michel on Eternal Sunshine?
CK: No, it's something that Spike and I talked about in a very vague way and we were able to sell it in a very vague pitch because the studio was the studio we did Adaptation with and they wanted to do something else with us. I'm writing it in this way that I'm not even clear on what I'm doing. I'm just kind of compiling stuff right now. I don't even know what it's entirely going to be, which excites me, but it's scary, I guess.

Righto. Is he ever clear on anything he's doing? Still, colour me hyper-intrigued.

Other accounts of the junket will probably appear on various sites within the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for them and give me a buzz if you find something new.

Synapse Crackle Pop - behind-the-scenes article about Eternal Sunshine, thanks again to Marla.

Forgot to mention a few days back that Bethie from the BCK board caught Eternal Sunshine TV spots on VH1 and MTV2.

What else? Let's see. Oh, right - for those Ebert & Roeper fans, you now have permission to go see Eternal: the dynamic duo gave it two thumbs up last weekend. Thanks to Warren, Marla and Victoria from the Kate the Great Yahoo group.

10 days from now, I can tell I'm gonna have an aneurism.
