MP3, "New Ear" reviews, and is Charlie writing under a pseudonym?

I will only say this three times: bandwidth is expensive. Bandwidth is expensive. Bandwidth is expensive. Don't be ridiculous and download both files ten times. But when you've listened to the plays, why not register at the the BCK forum and tell us what you thought?

As I mentioned before, there's a possibility the plays will be released for sale on CD, so I might take down the links after a week.

Huge thanks to Anna and Patrick - Patrick in particular saved me a bunch of time by uploading the 99MBer directly into BCK's vaults - and to Jason at Silver Bullet Hosting, without whom BCK would've been dead last year. Thanks also to Tim and Laurel, as well as anybody else who either succeeded or attempted to get an MP3. I'm always amazed by the amount of assistance BCK's visitors provide. Oh, and I'd like to thank the Academy, Oprah Winfrey and God.

You know that other play, “Anomalisa,” which replaced “Sawbones” when “New Ear” was performed at UCLA? Official word is that it was scripted by a well-known writer who wishes to hide behind the pseudonym “Francis Fregoli.” Well now. Fregoli, so say some, is actually Charlie. And Googling the word “fregoli” produces some interesting results, like this one:

The Fregoli delusion or Fregoli syndrome is a rare disorder in which a person holds a delusional belief that different people are in fact a single person who changes their appearance or is in disguise. (Source)

Aaahhh. So there ya go. If that's not enough, “Anomalisa” stars the great Tom Noonan, who directed one of Charlie's favourite flicks. If you were at the UCLA gig, how's about a review of the show? And a good summary of Fregoli's play, since so many of us missed it? (Don't we wish “Anomalisa” had been broadcast on Sirius, too? Eh?)

Couple of reviews before I go: Lend an ear to Charlie Kaufman (”Kaufman did not write both plays. Except he did… Maybe I'm wrong, but however much Kaufman likes to hide, he likes even more to be found.”) Thanks to Brian for that one.

‘Theatre of the New Ear' outfoxes itself, half the time (”Though similar in theme, two plays by Charlie Kaufman prove very different in their level of effectiveness as theater at UCLA's Royce Hall.”)
